"Human Being" or "Human Doing?"

"Human Being" or "Human Doing?"

Living day-to-day without considering how you feel or whether you’re really living the way you want - sounds familiar?

Your head is exploding with ideas, to-dos, and the next steps. You can’t just relax— and you’re not sure you even want to. You’re always in motion, but now you can sense that you’re approaching the breaking point - BURNOUT…

There is a common tendency in our modern busy life towards “doing” rather than “being” - we are too used to accomplishing our endless to-do lists.

The “being state,” on the other hand, is the experience of the moment as it is. To be in an experience and to be in the now, is to be with your full presence, the presence of your body and mind and heart.

🆘 “Human Doing” leads to stress, fatigue and burnout.

The being solution though can be quite simple:

  1. To figure out what’s important to you and what you’re about.

  2. To be OK with who you are right now. To be OK with not knowing the future. To be OK with not moving fast. To be OK with not always struggling ahead.

✅ This simple daily exercise can help you to start the transition from DOING to BEING:

1️⃣ Choose a simple activity that you do every day (for example, a walk to the bathroom, making and drinking a cup of coffee, or anything else).

2️⃣ Use all of your senses to really tune into the task. If you chose to walk to the bathroom in the morning for example , then you would notice how your feet feel against the floor, the weight of your feet on the floor, are your feet cold/hot etc. What the floor looks like, what sounds you can hear or if there’s a smell. Don’t try to label things, just become aware of the shapes, colours, sounds, etc just as they are.
